Happy Halloween!

For our ward trunk or treat activity Jaydin dressed up as Elmo and Parker wore a wig.  The Elmo costume was nice and warm, which was great because we were outside all night.  We were surprised how well Jaydin kept the head part on.  It was fun getting him dressed up and watching him walk around.

On Halloween we dressed Jaydin up as a cowboy since we were going to be inside.  He had a stick horse and a hat, which he refused to keep on for more than 3 seconds.  Since Jaydin is too young to care about trick or treating and candy we spent Halloween at Parker's parent's house enjoying donuts and visiting with lots of different people.

Funny Things from Jaydin

Here are some video's of Jaydin.  The things he does sometimes are so funny. He makes us laugh all the time.  We hope these can at least make you smile.

In this video I'm trying to get him to do Manama-nah for the camera.  He loves watching that video on YouTube and he'll sing it with us, unless we have the camera out.  He got tired of being recorded and so he said "Bye" and he left.

In this video he is putting puzzle pieces down his shirt.  He had been doing it for several minutes before we started videoing...he would put them in his shirt, then walk around until they fell out, then put them back in.

The last video is of him "helping" with the laundry.  This is how he usually helps me.  I had just folded all his clothes and he came over and took that shirt, put it on his head, and walked away.  I ran to grab the camera and came back to record this...sorry about he first part of the video, I didn't realize it was already recording....he tries to put it on, then gives up, puts it on his head, and walks away.  He often puts clothes on his head and walks around with them there.  I think he knows it's silly so he does it.

Updates on Jaydin

It seems like Jaydin changes every day.  He gets bigger, he picks up on new words, he does everything that we do (even the things we don't want him to, like emptying the trash), and he learns so fast!  He can feed himself, except often he chooses not to do it himself.  He is learning to jump on the couch and the bed, he runs, he and goes up and down the stairs without a problem.  When he writes or colors he holds the pen correctly.  He picks up at least one new word a day.  It's wonderful.  He knows the meaning of lots of words that he can't say as well.  He's good at saying no and not listening, but he is such a joy.  It is so fun to watch him grow and change.

Our New House!

Life has been a little crazy for us lately...we bought our first house!  It is a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom, with a garage and a small backyard.  We moved in a few weeks ago and have been working on getting everything cleaned and unpacked.  We are almost 100 % done.  All we have left is decorations, which I'm hesitant to start because I want to paint, but since we can't decide on a color that is all on hold for the moment.  Here are some pictures of our new house...excuse the parts that aren't particularly neat, I'm still working on it, and Jaydin doesn't like anything neat...he likes things all over the floor and anywhere that they don't go.

We are one of the middle houses in a set of 4 townhouses.
 The living room.
The entry way and stairs.  The door on the right is a bathroom.
The dining room.  We still don't have a kitchen table, so it's not quite put together yet.
The kitchen.  The door on the end goes out to the garage, and the doors across from the fridge are where the washer and dryer go.
 The office.
The kids bathroom-yes, it has 2 sinks.  (The master bathroom is the same, just mirrored.)
 The master bedroom.
 Jaydin's bedroom.
 The garage.
 The backyard.

That is our home.  Jaydin loves all the space to run around in (Mom and Dad love the space too, but not because we can run around), and it's nice to have a fenced yard so I can let him play without worrying about him getting out.  We love our new house!

Catching Up....

I know it's been a while, so we're going to a little catching up.  Starting with Jaydin's 1st Birthday!
 Hooray for cupcakes!
 1st cupcake
 Opening presents
Look at all I got!

Jaydin started to walk about a week after his 1st birthday.  He gets into even more things now!
I'm Walking!

Next, some of the adventures we've been on with Grammy K and Pops!
Crown King

Jerome Arizona

4th of July at the lake

Next, the Lords Family Reunion and Shawn's Graduation

And lastly, his latest trick is language development.  He does verbal and signing.  In baby sign he knows "please", "thank you", "more", "drink", "eat", and "all done".  Verbally he says Dad, ball, dog, woof, this (sounds like 'dis'), baby, oh man!, and boo really well, and he tries at lots of other words.  He also understands us when we talk.  He knows his nose, ears, piggies (toes), tummy, patty-cake, and lots of other things when we ask for him to point to them or do them.  He also imitates everything we say.  It's so cute.  The funniest one is dog, because every time he sees a dog he growls the word "dog", then says "woof woof".  Here is a video of him saying dog.

Jaydin's First Haircut

Jaydin got a haircut this week.  Here are a few before, during, and after photos.  He didn't like the during part very much.  Even a phone wouldn't cheer him up.

Our Mobile Boy

Jaydin gets around really well now.  He can go almost anywhere he wants.  If he isn't army crawling, he's walking along the walls and furniture or walking in his walker.  He has also taken his first steps on his own.  He moves really fast and we're having to keep an eye on him at all times.  He loves to go for the stairs, toilets, and garbage cans.  It's so fun!
